The
Building and Construction Industry Improvement Act 2005 (the Act) provides for the Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations to issue one or more documents that together constitute the Building Code. There has been no decision taken to issue a Building Code under the Act.
It is important to note that the Building Code referred to in the Act is separate from the National Code of Practice for the Building and Construction Industry, which currently applies on all Australian Government building sites.
