The OFSC has provided a report based on data collected for the July to December 2008 biannual reporting period. The report provides a broad summary of the biannual report data collected with comparisons to previous biannual report periods and to industry wide data.
Accredited Contractor Data - 2006-07
The Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner has put together a summary of data collected from accredited contractors for the 2006-2007 reporting period. The summary includes the top mechanisms of injury as recorded by contractors as well as the top occurring hazards.
Subcontractor OHS performance
The OFSC has initiated a project aimed at assisting subcontractors to better understand their OHS obligations, and to improve their OHS performance. As part of these activities, the OFSC commissioned a study into the barriers and enablers to an improved level of OHS performance among subcontractors. A summary of the findings was released in March 2008.
Cochrane systematic review on the efficacy of interventions to prevent injuries in the construction industry
In 2006, the Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner commissioned an International Cochrane Systematic Review that would review the effectiveness of interventions for preventing injuries in the construction industry. The report on the review was received in August 2007.
International identification of material
In 2006, the Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner (OFSC) commissioned research to identify international material and best practices that could be applied in the Australian building and construction industry.
