The model client: Promoting safe construction

This resource provides a practical and systematic approach to integrate WHS activities into the management of construction projects. This process adopts a lifecycle approach, establishing Key Management Actions (KMAs) from planning through to completion of projects. The framework provides significant resource material including checklists, templates and tools.

This resource is a series of 5 booklets, as well as a project WHS process map, glossary and Word versions of all usable resources, such as templates, checklists, guidelines, etc.

Booklet 1

This is the introductory book. It provides background information on the role a clients has in promoting safety in construction projects.  

Booklet 2

This booklet provides an explanation of what happens in the planning stage of a project and explains the KMAs that a model client could implement during this stage.

Booklet 3

This booklet provides an explanation of what happens in the design and procurement stage of a project and explains the KMAs that a model client could implement during this stage.

Booklet 4

This booklet provides an explanation of what happens in the construction stage of a project and explains the KMAs that a model client could implement during this stage.

Booklet 5

This booklet provides an explanation of what happens in the completion stage of a project and explains the KMAs that a model client could implement during this stage.
