First OFSC Roadshow a Success

The Federal Safety Commissioner, Alan Edwards, has thanked attendees for making the first OFSC Roadshow event such a success. The event, held at Bankstown Sports Club Sydney on 29 May 2015, drew over 100 representatives from accredited and unaccredited companies looking to learn more about the recent changes to the Scheme, improvements to the audit criteria and guidance and to ask questions and provide feedback to the OFSC.

The event comprised a keynote address followed by two workshops: one for accredited companies and one for companies considering accreditation.

Commissioner Edwards, who delivered the opening session and participated in both workshops, noted that “the discussions were robust and thorough, and feedback from companies was that they found the practical focus really hit the mark. As well as the chance to discuss specific criteria and what will or won’t meet them, companies said that it was great to meet OFSC staff in person”.

Over the coming weeks further roadshow events will be held in Brisbane (16 and 17 June 2015), Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra (29 June 2015, registrations will open shortly), Perth and Darwin. Stay posted at fsc.gov.au for event and registration details as they are finalised.
