FSC’s Reference Groups have their last meetings for 2012

Late last year, the acting FSC, Julie Rheese, chaired two formal consultative reference group meetings with the Industry Reference Group (IRG) and the Australian Government Agency Reference Group (AGARG).

Both groups were established to promote sharing of information, facilitate feedback from industry participants and client agencies and to provide advice to the FSC on activities of the Office. The agenda usually includes an update on the Scheme, audit processes, data for the quarter and trends relating to accredited companies. The forum tends to include discussion papers seeking input on key activities and initiatives of the office while also providing an opportunity for stakeholders to raise issues they believe are relevant to the work of the Office.

Following these most recent meetings in the week of 3 December 2012, Julie noted ‘the IRG and AGARGs have played an important and influential role in the work of the office since 2006. They have achieved this through providing strategic input into the direction and application of the Scheme, highlighting current industry issues and voicing opinions of accredited companies. We see these meetings as a key opportunity to hear feedback from the building and construction industry and the relating client agencies and I thank the members for taking the time to contribute in this way.’

Further information on the functions and membership of these reference groups can be found on our reference group page.
