Revised Application Form - May 2011

In response to industry feedback and internal reviews, the Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner has released an updated version of the Application for Accreditation, which has been streamlined to assist companies though the accreditation application process.

This week the Federal Safety Commissioner, Jeff Willing noted “the accreditation application form has been reformatted to provide clear guidance about how to complete each section and includes updated examples and advice on what evidence to provide”. The number of OHS performance reporting requirements has also been reduced as part of the application update. With the release of the revised application form, the Documentary Evidence Guide has been superseded by this user friendly document with a view to assisting companies compile a comprehensive and complete application.

Jeff also suggested that applicants consider having another accredited company act as mentor to guide them through the application process. Jeff said “we have received very positive feedback from companies who have participated in this initiative, and I would encourage companies new to the accreditation process to consider our mentor initiative”.

The OFSC will still accept applications using the previous form where companies may have already started their application.
